San Peng Prawn Mee a hidden jewel in a busy city life.

Lately, I’m quite fed-up with all this hipster café that serve burgers, spaghetti and salad. Not that, I have anything against them but, it just there aren’t any uniqueness or authentic in the food. It doesn’t represent our food, Malaysian Food. I’m just really sick of it.

Whenever, I look for old time’s flavor, flavor that keep you remember the real taste of Malaysian food, especially noodle. I will go here, San Peng Prawn Mee.

I had been visiting this place for 5-6 years now, since i met my husband. He was the one that introduced me to this place.

The first time I visited the place, I’m wearing a jacket and a long pant. End up, I sweat a lot and my make up melt.

This place is an open restaurant without any air-conditioning but with a few fans. The place can be quite hot and crowded during lunch time. So, be prepared for your tissue and handkerchief.

Let’s talk about the food.

We always order these 2 things from the menu. Chicken Prawn Hor Fun (RM7.00) with Clear Broth and Mixed Gizzard Salad ( RM6.00).

Not that, we don’t like the spicy prawn mee but we just prefer without the sambal. For us, its taste better. The Prawn Hor Fun broth is definitely to die for. We love it so much that every time we will leave none behind. The Prawn Hor Fun is unique because it serves with chicken meat and where else you get that?

The mixed gizzard salad is included thinly sliced gizzard, chicken feet, beansprout and some cilantro. All the ingredients, was blanch and mixed with sesame oil and soy sauce. It’s taste fresh, salty and aromatic.

The dipping sauce was kinda unique too. It mixed with cilantro, spring onion, green chilies, vinegar and sugar, like some kinda of pickle. But taste good.

So, if you have any chance to drop by this place, go ahead and try it out. You might like it.

Also, check out my mini video on the place and see you guys in my next blog!
