Malay food and I are unseparated. I grow up eating mostly Malay food. At home our food choices are more to east coast food, because my father is from east coast peninsular Malaysia, a state name Kelantan.

So, I always have a thing with Malay food, it close to my heart. You know, there are few things that impossible for me to resist such as ayam percik , keropok lekor, ulam-ulam and salted egg (telur masin). It’s just make me drooling inside.

Nowadays, we love to do most of our activities inside a shopping complex. May be because of the hot or hazy weather. Stay indoor seem like the right way to go.

One of the shopping complex that we visited often is IOI City Mall. Lots of dinning choices and indoor activities such as cinema, ice skating, bowling and District 21 (Indoor Adventure Park).

So, this time around we decided to have dinner at Relish Restaurant. This is my second time here. The first time, I did enjoy the food a lot.

Relish offers an exciting menu of traditional Malaysian meals in a contemporary style, ranging from its signature Nyonya Nasi Ulam with Ayam Percik and Nasi Lemak with Rendang Ayam Kunyit, to its scrumptious Nyonya Laksa and Spicy Smoked Beef Pasta, to its homemade Yam Cake, Penang Rojak and BBQ Chicken and Grilled Cheese Toast.

We ordered Nasi Ulam Ayam Percik RM18.78 & Nyonya Laksa Set RM15.18.

The Nasi Ulam came with Ayam Percik (chicken leg), salted egg and 5-6pcs of keropok lekor. The Nasi Ulam has been given a new modern twist with added chicken/fish floss. Ayam Percik was quite alright and I do appreciate for the big chicken leg. However, the keropok lekor was rather a disappointment, chewy and cold.

The Nyonya Laksa redeem itself with delicious and fragrant nyonya curry. Its came with 2-3 pcs wanton, grilled chicken, a few tau fu pok and long beans. Overall, not bad.

In addition, the nyonya laksa set came with one dessert of your choice (choose from 3 dessert) and 1 Ice Peach Tea. The dessert we choose Tang Yuan with Pulut Hitam ( Black sticky rice).

Did I told you I love black sticky rice? I do. The dessert cooked up to my liking, just the way I love it. Thick and creamy. The two little ball of tong yuan just nice to tag along.

The total bill come up to RM38.60 including everything about RM19.30 per person. I think quite reasonable for dining inside a shopping mall.

Overall, the food is quite alright. I will definitely come again when my craving kick in.
