Now with hipster café blooming like crazing around klang valley, I do appreciate this type of small and family business. The decorations are super simple with some rustic touch on the chairs and tables, old kettles and lamps hanging on the wall and old times biscuit on the counter and that’s about it. Not much renovation being done to the shop.
The shop is not air-conditioning and more on open concept, and luckily the shop is open from 6pm to 12pm. Not too hot.
The restaurant is easy to spot on by the roadside of Jalan BS 3/1. It’s located opposite the famous Shabu- Shabu House Pusat Perdagangan Seri Kembangan.
The food served quite simple as well. Just the kinda food that we usually took. Like Pan Mee (3 types Soup, dry and chili), Nasi Lemak ( 3 types with fried chicken leg, Rendang or Sotong), Steamed rice with salted fish pork, Steamed rice Pork Ribs with Tauchu and Chili,Steamed rice with herbal chicken and Hainanese Chicken Chop. In addition, some snacks and drinks. That’s about it.
I think it just open for couple of months and I felt it kinda pack during dinner time. First and foremost, the tables are not a lot. I think less than 20 tables. So, you just have to wait sometimes. But, we prefer to come early, around 6pm. To avoid the crowd. Once we finish, the crowd arrive.
We had tried their Soup Pan Mee, Chili Pan Mee, Nasi Lemak Rendang, Nasi Lemak Chicken Leg and Apple Juice.
The Soup Pan Mee RM5.50 is slightly above average, because the noodle was really smooth and silky. On the other side the soup is alright for me but I had better.
The Chili Pan Mee RM6.50 not up to my liking, I felt the mee is too raw and chewy. Definitely, a no no for me to order.
Nasi Lemak Rendang RM9.00 is just alright. Not able to compete with Malay’s real rendang. But, is just normal. I would said Chinese style rendang.
Nasi Lemak Chicken Leg RM10.50 came with big chicken leg. They did marinate the chicken beforehand and fried it to the perfection. When I said perfection, I mean by crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside. That is my kind of fried chicken. I’m so guilty for eating the chicken skin, it is so crispy and delicious!
Apple Juice RM4.50 was served with old tin cup which I think quite adorable. I used to remember my uncle used that old tin cup for brushing his teeth in the morning. Visiting this shop kinda take a stroll down memory lane.
Conclusion, the food was quite reasonable and average for me. If you happen to be around here, may be you can try it out.
My Personal View:
