Okay, let’s be real. This is my 1st time trying this Satellite Restaurant Chicken Rice. I know! I’m staying in KL/Selangor for almost 30++ years and my first time stepping into the restaurant.
So, the ambiance is quite nice. It is a corner shop with ample corner area which feels like we’re in somebody house and that somebody has a huge garden and we’re having this Chicken rice in the middle of his garden.It’s so cool!
The garden also has a DIY Christmas tree decorations and 80s-90s Christmas light which I kind of like it. The ambiance is nice, especially in the evening.
It’s kind of set the relaxing mood after tiring working the whole day.You can have a dinner first to avoid the heavy traffic in Federal Highway. That’s actually what we’re doing. LOL!
Okay, so let’s talk about the food.
We ordered BBQ Chicken, Poached Chicken, Mixed Char Siu and Siu Yok and Ipoh Beansprouts.
BBQ Chicken is smooth and tastes great. The color, texture everything is good.
Mixed Char Siu and Siu Yok are delicious especially the Char Siu.
One thing that disappoints me the most is the Mixed Char Siu and Siu Yok, such a small plate. We had a bigger serving when we ate at next door competitor.
Poached chicken is smooth and good but I must say the next door competitor has a smoother texture.
Ipoh Beansprouts is good and the rice is fragrant and delicious too.
Overall, the chicken rice is good. I’d come again but will not order the expensive and small plate Mixed Char Siu and Siu Yok.
My thought :
Every year, we will go to Ipoh and so excited to try Ipoh Food. Some of the Ipoh food from Ipoh Famous Chicken Rice Chains are a huge disappointment. They can’t even serve a decent chicken rice. This Satellite Restaurant Chicken Rice and 1977 Ipoh Chicken Rice are way much better than those shop.
