I love to make this Kuih Kosui. This Kuih Kosui Recipe is a good example of a simple recipe with minimal ingredient and yet super yummy.

I think using a good quality Gula Melaka is going to elevate your Kuih Kosui from ordinary to delicious.

Kuih Kosui Recipe | Kuih Kosui Recipe |Kuih Kaswi

Yield: 2 pax

1/2 Cup Grated Coconut
A big Pinch Sea Salt

Batter ingredients :
1/4 Cup (30 grams) Rice Flour
1/4 Cup (30 grams) Tapioca Starch
1.50 Tbsp All-Purpose Flour
1/4 Cup Water
1/2 Cup Coconut Milk
1/2 Cup Palm Sugar Syrup ( I use palm sugar and melt it in the microwave and add some hot water so that it will not harden)
1 tbsp sugar


1. Combine all the batter ingredients, mix well until it’s smooth.

2. Then strain into a measuring jug or cup.

3.Preheat the small teacups over high heat for 3 to 4 minutes.

4. Pour the batter into the cups and steam for about 25 to 35 minutes.
Tip: If you have a small cup, use it. I don’t so I’m using a medium size cup. That’s make about 3.50 cup.

5. Remove and let cool before serving.

6. Meanwhile, Mix the shredded coconut with a pinch of salt and steam for 3 to 4 minutes.

7. To serve; remove the Kuih Kosui from the cups and coat with grated coconut.

Bahan bahan:
1/2 cawan kelapa parut
Sedikit garam

Bahan-bahan bancuhan:
1/4 cawan tepung beras
1/4 cawan tepung ubi kayu
1.50 sudu besar tepung gandum
1/4 cawan air
1/2 cawan santan cair
1/2 cawan gula melaka
