Our trip to KLCC is just a mini trip that we need to get away from our stressful daily life. What makes this mini trip fun is we have the chance to use the New MRT line and changing among the lines. Which is so FUN! We felt like Japan all over again.
KLCC had changed a lot and it looks dull from the inside. It used to look prestige and luxurious, I guess Pavillion has overtaken that place.
We stumbled upon Din By Din Tai Fung, KLCC. It has ‘No Pork’ signage outside the Restaurant. I was intrigued to try the food. Using the chicken to cook Chinese Pork Dishes or Chinese Dim Sum can be challenging and I’m just curious how good are the food.
While I had tried Din Tai Fung, Midvalley and for me it was alright.
When we entered Din By Din Tai Fung, KLCC, most of the staffs are Malay and only a few are Chinese, we were seated and everything looks good.
On the menu, there is limited food but it was sufficient for a simple lunch or dinner. So, we placed our ordered and the food arrived within 10-15mins.
Chicken Xiao Long Bao (6 pcs) RM18.00
This is a good quality Chicken Xiao Long Bao, the chef making such a good effort making the filling to be smooth like pork-based Xiao Long Bao.
While without the pork filling there is still some missing flavor. But, I think it’s quite good for a chicken version. It was juicy and savory soup.
Steamed Shrimp & Chicken Shao Mai (6 pcs) RM24.00
This Steamed Shrimp & Chicken Shao Mai is a rip-off. It has the same element as the Chicken Xiao Long Bao except for that additional prawn on top of each Shao Mai.
Chicken & Mushroom Bun (3 pcs) RM15.00
The first impression was good on the Chicken & Mushroom Bun until I start to tear off the skin which is so difficult! I almost rip off the outer part of the bun. However, the filling is delicious, juicy and freakin hot!
Hot & Sour Noodle Soup RM24.00
This is the winner!
The Hot and Sour Soup is awesomely delicious! and the noodle is smooth, silky and you want more!
Everything about this Hot & Sour Noodle Soup is perfect! The hotness, sourness, thickness of the soup and I’m just speechless… You have to try this.
Shrimp Fried Rice RM28.00
I almost didn’t order Shrimp Fried Rice. For a fried rice, it can be considered expensive. But, I just don’t know what to order as the menu have limited stuff to choose from.
When it arrived, it looks good. When I had my first bite, it was out of this world! The fried rice is equally good as the noodle. Something about the fluffy fried rice and the way a chef handle the fried egg makes such a big difference, the egg was scramble until so fluffy like the rice. Hah! It just so good.
Overall, the food and experiences are good. But, I’d said this, the price in this Restaurant can be steep, one thing to remember this is KLCC.
