Arrowroot Pork Ribs Soup or in Chinese called 粉葛排骨汤 is a recipe soup that quiet foreign to me.

This soup was introduced by my mom in law, and it’s straightforward to cook this recipe especially when using a pressure cooker.

Arrowroot soup has a lot of benefits such as aids digestion and regulates the bowel movement. Its high starch content acts as a mild laxative for those suffering from irritable bowel syndrome.

Arrowroot is an excellent source of potassium, which is an essential component of cell and body fluids that help regulate the heart rate and blood pressure.

Arrowroot Pork Ribs Soup 粉葛排骨汤

Yield: 4 persons

500g Arrowroot粉葛, crushed
60gram Dried Black Bean, soak for a half hour
1pc Corn
15 pcs Dried Dates, remove seed
700gram Pork Ribs, blanched
1.20-liter water
Salt to taste (We don’t put salt)

1. Clean the arrowroot and slice about 3-4cm and crush it.

2. Using a pressure cooker, combine all the ingredients in the pot. Cook for 30 minutes.

Tip: If using a normal way to cook, cook for about 1-1.50 hour.

Serve while it’s hot.
